Beirut, Also the Site of Deadly Attacks, Feels Forgotten To be sure, the attacks meant different things in Paris and Beirut. Paris saw it as a bolt from the blue, the worst attack in the city in decades, while to Beirut the bombing was the fulfillment of a never entirely absent fear that another outbreak of violence may come. Undoubtedly, people die in such attacks around the world on a daily basis. It has to happen in some Western metropolis to reach the attention of mainstream media. I have never thought I would ever be writing these words, but seriously, I wish my country wouldn’t be on international news that much! I hope everyone in the EU has voted already, you know how I feel about voting. 🙂 It’s going to be a busy week for me, with loads of things to get done before I am heading to London the next weekend. I am very excited already! 🙂 Interestingly, I have only picked international law stories for this Sunday. Hope you’ll find them as interesting as I did. Crimea after Cyprus v. Turkey: Just Satisfaction for Unlawful Annexation? I have mentioned the European Court of Human…
